We are excited to welcome you as a Volunteer for the 2026 LECOM Suncoast Classic (“LECOM”) Golf Tournament, taking place from April 2-5, 2026.

By volunteering, you will be assisting us in delivering a top-tier event, and we are committed to ensuring you have a fulfilling and enjoyable experience. This Volunteer Waiver outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and benefits of your role.

1. Age Requirements
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old as of January 1, 2026, to be considered for a position. Volunteers younger than 16 may participate in select committees with parental consent/supervision. Please reach out to our tournament staff to inquire if you have a teen wanting to participate. Some roles may have a minimum age requirement of 25 years.

2. Shifts/Hours
Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of three shifts (each lasting approximately 7-8 hours). Additional shifts can be taken if desired.

3. Committee Assignment
Upon successful completion of your registration, you will receive notification of your assigned committee and the name of your Committee Chairman, to whom you will report. Depending on your committee assignment, you may be required to attend scheduled training sessions in advance of the event.

We expect all volunteers to perform their duties to the best of their ability while adhering to our established procedures and standards, including those related to health and safety.


Below are the committees that will be operating during the 2026 LECOM event:


WALKING SCORERS: (Wednesday - Sunday)
Walking scorer volunteers play a vital role in supporting the competition team by recording and relaying scores on a handheld device throughout the tournament. This position requires successful completion of mandatory training in the days leading up to the event. Must be comfortable with basic computer skills, have a good understanding of golf etiquette and scoring, and be able to walk 18 holes of a golf course. The minimum age for this role is 18 years old. Walking scorers must be available to work at least three days during the official tournament rounds.

Physical endurance is required as walking scorers must be able to keep up with their group for the full 18 holes (typically 5-6 miles or about 10,000 steps), regardless of weather conditions, and without breaks. Volunteers should be comfortable using a handheld digital device to record scores and a voice radio with a headset for constant communication.

Shifts last approximately 6 hours per day. Volunteers are required to work at least one weekday shift in order to be considered for weekend shifts.

All Volunteers must be 18+ years old and must sign a Disclosure Form.

STANDARD BEARERS: (Saturday & Sunday)
Volunteers in this role will be responsible for walking alongside a designated group of players and posting their scores on a standard. Volunteers must be able to carry the standard (weighing approximately 5-7 pounds) while walking 18 holes. This role is suitable for teens 16 to 18 years.. Shift is approximately 6 hours per day.

MARSHALS: (Wednesday - Sunday)
Volunteers will be assigned to specific holes as marshals. Their responsibilities include managing the flow of spectators behind the ropes and ensuring the players and officials remain inside the ropes. This role involves moderate walking and standing. AM or PM shifts are available on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Saturday & Sunday there is one 6-7 hour shift for the entire day, with start times varying based on hole assignments.This committee requires working long hours outdoors, including extended periods in the sun.

HOSPITALITY: (Thursday - Sunday)
Welcome guests and verify credentials at the entrances to sponsored hospitality areas. Assist corporate clients as needed to ensure they have the best possible experience. Ensure that only properly credentialed individuals are granted access to private hospitality areas. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

STARTERS: (Wednesday - Sunday)
Responsible for introducing Pro-Am players on Tuesday and Tournament players (during tournament rounds) as they approach the tee box on either hole #1 or hole #10 to start their round. Strong public speaking skills and proper voice projection/inflection are required. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

PRO-AM: (Tuesday - Wednesday)
Assist with activities related to the Pro-Am events on Monday and Wednesday. This includes greeting sponsors at the Pro-Am Draw Party on Tuesday night and providing support on Wednesday with Pro-Am registration and gift distribution. One shift Tuesday PM Shift 5:30PM - 8:30PM. Two shifts available Wednesday, AM or PM

ADMISSIONS & INFORMATION: (Thursday - Sunday)
Manage ticketing, credentials, and general information at the admission gates. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

PLAYER REGISTRATION: (Monday - Wednesday)
Responsible for registering players for the tournament and acting as a resource for local amenities, and general concierge services for players' needs. Two shifts are available on Monday and Tuesday: AM or PM. On Wednesday, there is one shift available: AM only.

CADDIES SERVICES: (Monday - Sunday)
Responsible for registering caddies for the tournament and serving as a resource for local amenities, and general concierge services for caddies' needs. Assist with organizing and distributing caddie bib assignments.Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

PLAYER DINING: (Monday - Sunday)
Welcome players, their families, and guests as they enter the Clubhouse for breakfast and lunch. Offer assistance in verifying credentials and access to the designated area. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

PRACTICE AREAS: (Monday - Sunday)
Manage the distribution of golf balls to players and caddies, and oversee crowd control in the practice area. This role involves moderate walking, standing, and some physical labor. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

UNIFORM DISTRIBUTION: (TBD):
Distribute volunteer uniforms before the event. Location: Styler Driver Headquarters

VOLUNTEER HEADQUARTERS (VHQ): (Monday - Sunday)
Assist with volunteer hospitality functions during the tournament by setting up and maintaining food and beverage areas. Help Marshal Chairpersons with on-course lunch and beverage delivery, and distribute Volunteer Uniforms during Tournament week. This role involves minimal walking or standing. Volunteers in this position may also be called upon to fill in for last-minute needs or support other committees. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

PRODUCT DISTRIBUTION: (Monday - Sunday)
Distribute food, ice and beverages to on-course locations. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license. Moderate level of walking, standing and moderate physical labor. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

VOLUNTEER/ADA & PLAYER SHUTTLES: (Monday - Sunday)
Responsible for transporting volunteers to their workstations and shuttling players from the green to the tee on various holes. A valid driver's license is required. This role involves minimal walking or standing. Two shifts available every day, AM or PM

4. Training and Orientation
Prior to your first shift, you will receive a virtual or in-person training session to familiarize you with your responsibilities. Additional training may be required for certain committees, such as Walking Scorers and Hospitality. Check our Volunteer Website for updates on event details, schedules, and training information.

5. Supervision and Support
If you have any issues or concerns during your volunteer experience, we encourage you to share any issues, concerns, or suggestions with your chairperson, a member of the Tournament staff, or directly with the LECOM Volunteer Coordinators. If you have any questions or concerns prior to the event, please feel free to email the Volunteer Coordinator.

If your plans change and you are unable to volunteer as scheduled, or if you need to withdraw from volunteering during the event, please notify us as soon as possible by logging into your volunteer account and updating your availability.

6. Volunteer Package and Fee
The Registration fee FOR 2026 is $50 and includes the following package:

  • Official LECOM Golf Shirt
  • Official LECOM Golf Hat
  • Tournament Week Badge & Parking Pass
  • Breakfast & Lunch on workdays
  • One (1) complimentary non-transferrable round of golf at Lakewood National Golf Club
  • Four (4) Weekly Ground Passes for the Tournament days
  • STYLE DRIVER gift card worth: $25

7. Golf Cart Acknowledgement/Waiver
Golf carts are primarily used for transporting individuals, but they also serve utility purposes during the event. These vehicles are essential to the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of tournament operations. Given that golf carts are motorized vehicles, we have implemented specific safety guidelines and procedures to ensure their safe operation. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to operate a golf cart for transporting supplies and at least 25 years old to transport passengers. Before operating a golf cart, volunteers will be required to sign a separate Golf Cart Safety Training Acknowledgement and Liability Release form.

8. Volunteer Eligibility
Volunteers may be subject to background checks, and some positions may require specific experience or training. Volunteers may be disqualified from future opportunities or dismissed during their service for the Tournament for, but not limited to, the following reasons:
• Consumption/being under the influence of alcohol or drugs while on duty
• Theft
• Insubordination, abuse or mistreatment of players, fans, Tournament staff, visitors, guests, or other volunteers
• Failure to follow Tournament policies and procedures
• Failure to complete assigned shifts as directed by the Vice Chairman or Committee Chairman
• Allowing another person to use assigned volunteer credential
• Seeking autographs outside of the designated autograph area
• Entering restricted areas without proper credentials
• Cancelling without returning items received as part of the volunteer program
• Being late and/or leaving assigned post unattended

By agreeing to volunteer, you understand and acknowledge these expectations and the consequences for failing to adhere to them.

9. COVID-19 Safety Acknowledgment
By participating as a volunteer, including for any minor volunteer ("Minor") whose participation is authorized by their legal guardian, both volunteers and legal guardians (collectively, “Volunteers”) understand that involvement in the Championship (the “Facility”) and performing volunteer duties for the Tournament, the Facility, PGA TOUR, the title sponsor (if applicable), the host organization, and their affiliates and subsidiaries, along with their officers, directors, agents, employees, and other volunteers (collectively, the “Indemnified Parties”), may expose volunteers to unforeseen and unanticipated risks of injury or harm. Specifically, you acknowledge that you have received and reviewed the “Specific Notice Regarding COVID-19 to Volunteers” provided to you.

By volunteering, and as a condition of participation, volunteers and legal guardians on behalf of Minors acknowledge these risks, assume full responsibility for them (including those related to COVID-19), and agree to release the Indemnified Parties from any and all claims for liability arising from personal injury, illness (including death), or property damage that may occur during volunteer activities, whether on the Facility’s premises or elsewhere. This includes, but is not limited to, claims arising from the condition of the Facility or the actions of any person involved in preparing, supervising, or conducting the Championship or related activities. Volunteers accept full responsibility for any medical treatment costs for injuries or illnesses sustained during the event. By registering, volunteers confirm they have read and understood this release and agree to be bound by its terms as a condition of their participation.

By continuing with the registration process and completing the online registration, you are electronically signing and agreeing to the terms of this Volunteering Engagement. This confirms your understanding and agreement to comply with the guidelines set forth in the Volunteer Handbook.
